Living Life On Your Terms

Yesterday was a rare day in the sense I went to church by myself. Usually Angela and I go to the 10am service with our three daughters, then Angela stays till 1pm to teach her 5 year old class. But the kids were still recovering from being sick earlier in the week so we decided to keep them home.

The sermon was awesome as usual. Tom Lipsey is a phenominal pastor and preacher. He has an ability to teach and inspire from the pulpit like nobody I have ever seen before. He just finished his six week series titled “9 to 5″, an awesome message on how to conduct yourself in the workplace and honor God in everything you do.

I arrived home from church around 11:40am. I had a pit in my stomach the whole morning thinking of my two week trip to PA and how I would be away from Angela and the kids. There are many things I can handle, but being away from my family is not one of them.

So I walked in the door and asked Angela why we all couldn’t go to PA? Madeline graduated kindergarten last week and the other two girls are low maintenance. She loved the idea. So within two hours we had the Crowley Van packed to the top and all three kids strapped into their seats for the 6 1/2 hour drive to Bradford. I called the neighbors, had the mail, lawn mowing and other stuff taken care of and we were on the road.

I have to take care of some real estate business in Bradford and then we are off the Hershey, PA to visit our friends Mike and Dina. Angela will stay in Hershey for the weekend while I attend a three day Internet marketing seminar in Philadelphia. Within the span of 10 days our kids will go from Disneyworld to Hershey Park, not exactly the lifestyle I enjoyed as a kid - but then again that’s why I focused on being financially free - to bless my family and community.

As we were in the van yesterday I asked Angela if she could imagine doing anything other than what we are doing right now. How many people can say they are going away for two weeks and just do it? Most employees only receive two weeks vacation in an entire year and have to have that approved by some suit.

We are truly blessed. The fact that we can keep our family together and live life on our terms is the winning lotto ticket of life. We developed a plan long ago and stayed focused on executing that plan. We had to endure adversity at its highest level, but we didn’t fold or question our motives beacuse they were pure. Our motivation was to simply be a family and make Everyday Saturday.

The Everyday Is Saturday CD is in the final stages of production. The membership site will be launched this month as well. I’ll be blogging from the road for the next two weeks. Actually it feels like home, no the road, when you have your family with you.

Stay focused on your dream, Do not let people tell you the life you desire is unattainable. I did it and you can too.

You are a champion.
