The Defintion Of A Champion

A coaching cleint emailed me yesterday and wanted to know my definition of the word Champion. She knew what it meant to her but because I use the word with such authority and conviction, she was curious what I viewed as the defintion of the word Champion.

Excellent question.

First, here is the defintion of the word Champion from www.dictionary.com.

If there was ever a defining phrase for www.everydayissaturday.com it would be this one. My cause is to be a husband and father while inspiring people all around the world to live the life they love. That is my cause and I will defend that cause until the day they plant me in the ground. I know what it’s like to have no money. I know what it’s like to be counted out. I know what fear looks like, I stare it down everyday. I know what it’s like to overcome adversity - I respect advsersity and move on, pushing forward toward my goal of creating champions worldwide.

I know all of the above but I also know one very important thing as well. Something so incredibly powerful that it literally takes my breath away - I know how to dream! I don’t mean small dreams I mean dreams so big they wake me up in the middle of night. Dreams that others cannot even relate to because they’re too busy trying to make it to Friday.

I have the Champion Attitude because I defend my dream and the dreams of all my coaching clients. If someone messes with a client of mine they get Sam Crowley and his 25+ years of overcoming fear and adversity on his way to becoming one of the most sought after speakers in the country.

What are you defending? What cause are you championing? (I think that’s a word, probably a verb-I’m on a roll don’t stop me). If you don’t know I have an awesome suggestion for you. Defend the greatest cause you can ever imagine - YOU and Your Dream. Don’t let anyone steal your dream. It will make you stronger and more successful in so many ways.

So what is my defintion of a champion?

A person who defends their dream on their way to living the life they love.
