The Final Step: What Is Your Plan?

Here we are at step # 3 of our three step process of defending your dream and realizing life-changing success. The first two questions we had to answer were - Where are you now? and Where do you want to be? Now we have to answer the last question - What is your plan to get there?

You’ve heard it said many times that if you are driving from NY to CA you wouldn’t think of doing so without a map, so why do you think you can do it with anything else? You must have a vehicle that is going to take you where you want to go. I have mentioned many times on my blog and radio show that real estate was the first vehicle I used to begin moving closer to my dream. In 2001 I went to a three hour evening seminar in downtown Cincinnati to hear more about real estate investing and how all these people became wealthy. I was intrigued by the topic and signed up for a three day seminar that would be held in Cincinnati two months later.

I was fired up because I knew if I focused on real estate investing and was serious about my dream, I could make it happen. I had a sense of what made everyone successful, not just real estate investors. Successful people finished what they started. Successful people did not make excuses or quit on their dream. They knew there would be obstacles in the way and realized success was not easy. I was prepared for a long haul but knew full well nothing would happen unless I took massive action.

After the three day seminar I purchased my first piece of real estate with a credit card-yes a credit card-long story for another blog post. I quickly saw how rents exceeded expenses meant money in my pocket. I wasn’t rich, but I could see that if I did that with one property I could do it with 20. So I began implementing my plan and had acquired 45 units over the next four years with no money down.

I am not a real estate guru and don’t have any type of information products that I sell on the topic, I just had a passion to exit the rat race. And that is where the secret of this last step is revealed. Each one of you will have a different destination, no two dreams are the same, but here is the common denominator. Everyone has to have the same level of passion when going towards their dream. Without passion you won’t take action. Without action you will not have results. Without results, you’re stuck in the same place you were before you put your plan together.

There were no less than 100 people in that hotel room in Cincinnati, OH back in 2001. All of them had a dream. From that group of 100 about 10 signed up for the three day weekend seminar. Of those 10, I was the only one who took it to the next level and continued investing in real estate. I guess you can say the odds were 1 out of 100, which is probably the case for just about anything that invloves taking action. You have dreamers and go-getters. The dreamers just sit there and dream all day never taking action like 99 of the people in that hotel back in 2001. The go-getters realize what is on the line if they don’t go after their dream.

Go after your dream! Life is not a dress rehearsal, you only get one shot.

You are a champion.
