Sam Crowley, Brian Tracy, Jeffrey Gitomer & Armando Montelongo

So here I was yesterday, thinking how awesome it was going to be sharing the stage with Dr. John Maxwell, Coach Carter, Loral Langemeier and a host of others. I was beginning the preparation stage of my three days of MCing the 600 person Main Event in Atlanta, GA when the phone rang - it was a very good friend of mine, who in the interest of not spoiling the surprise for his clients, he will remain nameless right now.

So what did my friend want? He was calling to ask if I would be a guest speaker in his upcoming coaching series he is putting together for his best students. Whenever this person calls, I am happy to help because again, I love his story and really appreciate someone who makes money and not excuses. I told him I’d be happy to share the Everyday Is Saturday message with his champion students and then asked who else he booked for the training series.

He said, ” You’ll be kicking off the series and then we have Armando Montelongo from Flip This House, Jeffrey Gitomer as well as Brian Tracy wrapping up the series, just to name a few.”

So let me understand this correctly. Last year I was trying to like hell in my job to make people understand that the same old thing is not acceptable. I was literally banging my head against the wall while surrounded by mediocrity, screaming at the top of my lungs that greatness is absolutely possible but you have to be willing to change. After being met with “we’re just not there yet….blah blah blah ” I quit and went for my dream of inspiring people all around the world who were just like me - tired of being told the best is not possible, you have to settle into your spot in the food chain and take orders.

Fast forward to today. In the next 60 days I will be sharing the virtual and literal stage with a who’s who of speakers and business people who have the same passion as Sam Crowley. People who said “No Thank You” to mediocrity and went for their dream. People who have sold millions of books, CD’s and seminars because their message and their story are real.

So the next time you tell your dream to someone and they laugh, think of Sam Crowley. Think of the guy who challenged others to be great each and everyday and was met with more resistance than a lion trying to penetrate a pack of coyotes. “There’s no way that motivational stuff works.” They were right, it doesn’t work on 90% of the people because they refuse to receive it. It DOES work on the smaller percentage because they know how powerful words can be. Just ask my new friends, Dr John, Coach Carter, Loral, Armando, Jeffrey and Mr. Tracy.

Life is awesome.
