What If You Couldn’t Fail?

I haven’t met too many people over the past two years who have left a successful career to pursue something else. When I say successful career, I mean that the individual was very good at what they did and handsomely compensated.

However, in the past month, I have been contacted by four people who have left six-figure jobs. They felt the need to contact me obviously because I did the same thing not too long ago - kind of a fraternity of dreamers.

The reasons for these people leaving their jobs were different in each case but had a common theme of “I just want to be happy.” The amazing part of each story is that these people were VERY successful and very well paid. The median earnings for the four people I spoke to were $130,000. If that doesn’t make you stand up and take notice than nothing will. These men and women were very secure in their jobs making better than average money and decided that life was too short and their job not worth it if meant sacrificing good health and family time.

I say “Congratulations to you!” for having the courage to know when to say when. To understand that life is not about making money but more about making a difference in the ,lives of the peolpe you love. I said before and I will continue to say “You can always make more money but you cannot make more time.” Don’t feel bad for these people and worry too much about where their next meal will coming from. You see, when you know how to make moeny, it’s not like you ever forget. Some went to better, less stressful jobs for MORE money, while others went off to start their own business. They will be financially free in not time at all.

I can hear all the former employers of these people right now. This is the company line whenever you lose a good employee: “It’s the right move for Joe and it’s also the right move for our organization. We wish him and his family all the best.” Translation: We suck as an organizaton and we just got a helluva lot worse. Nobody saw this coming because we were all too busy covering our own backsides. It will take us three years to find another person we can ride this much and pay this little - pass me the scotch.

And so it goes.

More and more people are focusing less on security and more on quality of life. I say to each of you reading this blog today that you can do whatever you want, whenever you want and with whoever you want. All you need is a big shot of self-esteem and a blueprint to cross the terror barrier - that barrier between security and freedom. Sometimes it can look like an ocean but if you have faith and are focused on what you truly want out of this life ( the only one you are given) you will soon realize that it’s a small price to pay for all that is waiting for you on the other side.

Start making your plans today for your launch date. Take the attitude of “What if failure was not even an option?” How much different would your approach be?

Your probably saying right now: ”I would kill it brother, I would go after it with such vigor that it would make your head spin. I would succeed no questions asked!”

Exactly.

You are a champion.
