Roger Clemens - Say It Ain’t So…
It looks like Roger Clemens really was at that party at Jose Canseco’s house back in 1998.
see what I’m speaking about, read the latest Clemens story Here.
Say it ain’t so Roger.
Another baseball hero is about to go down in flames, all in the name of trying to keep his perceived persona afloat. Roger Clemons wants you to believe that he is the only one Brian McNamee was lying about when asked how he injected him with steroids. Andy Pettitte admitted to it, Chuck Knoblauch admitted to it and Roger is still stone walling.
Now it seems there is a photo from that infamous party at Jose Canseco’s house from a then 11 year-old kid who was getting photos off all is heroes, one of them being Clemens. Now their is another witness who says he overheard Clemens in the clubhouse days after the party, joking about the comparisons between Canseco’s wife and his wife’s breast augmentations. Yikes!
It’s looking worse and worse for Clemons as each day goes by, which leads me to this question: “Is anyone really who they say they are anymore?” Specifically in the online world, you see so many “gurus” and people proclaiming their expertise on any subject under the sun. Seems like all you need is a website and you’re good to go - “Insta-Guru.”
My goal with Everyday Is Saturday has always been to help the corporate slave understand that a better life exists outside of their cubicle or corner office. I could not comment on any of that had I not lived it myself. I’ve had it all, lost it all, made it back again and in the meantime gained the understanding that if you have 5 friends in this world you should consider yourself the luckiest person alive. I also know that each and every day is a gift and can indeed be “Saturday.” I teach all over the world and have been paid thousands to coach people who want the blueprint. There’s no way I could sleep at night if I felt the least bit like a sham. Unfortunately, these athletes don’t feel the same way.
Athletes on steroids want you to believe it’s all natural; a by-product of hard work. I even argued in defense of Clemen’s contract last year with the Yankees, check the archives on this blog. I thought if this guy kept himself in such great shape in his mid-40’s, he deserves to be paid $17 million for a half season of baseball. Duped again. It looks like Roger is as guilty as Bonds, Palmeiro, Giambi, Pettitte and the rest of the ‘roiders.’
Every now and again I’ll get a comment like: “Sam, you sound angry when you speak about living the life you love and all that happened along the way.” Not angry, just focused. I have seen so many, I mean SO many phonies, that I seldom give anyone the benefit of the doubt anymore unless they can prove it. I challenge champions-in-the-making to blaze their opwn trail and get hold of quality mentors. Fortunately, there are people who ahev walked the walked but you have to do your due diligence and make sure they are who they say they are.
Just six months ago, most baseball fans would’ve referred to Roger Clemens as a “First ballot Hall of Famer.” Now he may be referred to as anything but that. Some may call him, liar, cheater, druggie, etc. What a difference a year makes. Be careful who you look up to and who you choose to follow. If they are more sizzle than steak, you risk being let down in a big way.
You are a champion.
Sam
