Internet Marketing Seminar

May 4, 2007, Category: Personal Development

Yesterday I had a great conversation with Tom Tubergen. Tom and I are hosting a powerful seminar July 12-14 in Detroit Michigan.

The purpose of the seminar is to help people start a new career in Internet marketing which will eventually replace their full time income. It is a great vision and will change the lives of anyone attending who truly wants to jump on the Internet train. Other seminars are planned for New York, Chicago, Dallas and San Diego in 2007.

Tom and I were sharing our corporate experiences and I was amazed at how similar our backgrounds were.

Let me start with what we do NOT have in common. Tom has a college and post graduate degree. I have about 20 college credits to my name and most of those are gym and health class.

After you get past that, the similarities kick in. Tom was a very successful software salesman who rose up the corporate ladder, eventually becoming vice president of sales. He left his position with that company to start a woodworking company of his own, which he ran for about five years before selling his stake in the company to his partner.

You can tell by speaking with Tom, he is successful. We were speaking about the lost art of leadership in the workforce today. Prior to leaving my former company, it became much more difficult to find good talent. I don’t mean sales only, I am speaking about management as well.

We would struggle to put a good management team on the field. We needed a management team that could motivate, inspire and stay ahead of the industry.

What we would typically receive would be average sales reps who didn’t want to carry the bag anymore and hope to God they could find some place to escape the pressure.

There are many problems when relying on this type of individual to lead your organization. They become threatened when managing reps with more talent or they are intimidated and let the inmates run the asylum.

My best managers were ones who were comfortable with who they were and didn’t worry what others thought about them. They knew they would have to make tough decisions and had the best interest of the organization at heart.

Both Tom and I were corporate leaders trapped inside and entrepreneur’s body. Now that we’re both retired, we are focused on helping other leaders realize their potential and be rewarded handsomely for it in the online world.

As we both agreed, the opportunities online are endless. You can make money in good and bad times as long as you have a quality product and good intentions.
