Interested in ranking on page one of Google in less than 24 hrs?

Cool, you’ll enjoy today’s blog post.

Yesterday I had a coaching client challenge me ( I love when they do that) on getting ranked on page one of Google in one day. So I accepted the challenge. I told them I would rank on page one of Google for the keyword Cincinnati Motivational Speaker. Makes sense since I live in Cincinnati and I am a motivational speaker. Again, I’m not that smart but I’m not stupid, I kind of like the thought of keeping things simple.

At 11am October 28, 2008 I submitted my article to one directory for free – goarticles.com. I didn’t use some fancy, expensive software that blasted the article out to 8 billion directories. At 10:30 am today I Googled the term Cincinnati Motivational Speaker and there was my article, indexed on page one. Hmm, looks like my client lost the bet.

You may be saying “But Sam, Cincinnati Motivational Speaker is not a competitive keyword like the term Motivational Speaker.” Exactly. If I can speak in my hometown and know that the competition is much less, why not start there first? Why overthink the issue? If you have a business in your town and would like to rank high in search engines for business in your own backyard, why not do it? All you have to do is write a 300-400 word article about your industry, put the keyword in the title of the article and upload to all the free article directories online. Is this the only way to rank? No? Is your SEO complete by simply writing articles? No. This is just one way to gain exposure for your business online.

Just because it’s free and easy, doesn’t mean it’s not effective. Give it a shot and let me know what success you have. It’s easy to do but it’s also easy not to do. Your choice.

    Great post.

Simplicity is always the best and I believe that too many people over-complicate things in business and in life.

A knock-on effect of over-thinking and over-complicating things is procrastination. Procrastination is not only the stealer of time (and you can’t get back lost time) but also the killer of dreams, hopes aspirations and possibilities.

Just go ahead and rock your world, live your dream.
