Surprises Suck

Surprise!

It's pretty cool when you're friends are all hiding in a dark living room or kitchen, waiting for you to walk in on your birthday for that BIG surprise.

Gosh, that sure is fun.

It's not really fun however, when your spouse leaves you for another, or your business goes down the tubes.

Unfortunately, if you're 100% honest about it - it really wasn't that shocking. Once you got over the anger, the sick feeling in your stomach and tried to get the license plate of the truck that ran you over - you could have guessed it would end that way.

Great news: Today's video will teach you how to end all of the ugly surprises and set you up for your best days ever!

  1. great posts and insights as ususal! and applicable to a lot of dif areas of life.

  2. Sam,

Man, you know how to nail it! That was a kick in the butt and I thank you for every word. Happy for you for dropping 19 lbs.
My wife, Jamie, and I are doing the same thing. It really isn't rocket science. Less wrong kinds of food and more energy expended and OMG we let a bunch of pounds go.

THANKS AGAIN FOR BEING YOU SAM,

    STEVE

  3. Sam,

You know what NEVER surprises me? That you're such a good teacher and cheerleader and counselor for ALL of us in this Every Day is Saturday group! Much appreciated, sir.
    (no, REALLY!)
    Dana

PS: Oh, and one other thing. Here's a favorite quote of mine from Thomas Alava Edison: “I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work, but I haven't failed."

  4. Hey Sam,
looking good at 188 there buddy. This message was very powerful and is a great reminder to keep moving forward with our dreams. When we are moving on purpose, our success does not come as a surprise, it is expected. Time for Focused action. Talk to you soon Coach!

  5. Thanks for being you!

  6. Sam -- you're AWESOME! I've got to come by here WAY more often. I'm totally pumped up now. Hey... here's an idea for YOU... why not have links to all your products right up at the top right side of your blog? I'm feeling good... really enjoy your speaking style and your ability to cut through the crap and talk to me on a deeper level. In other words... I'm on an emotional high right now, as I'm sure everyone is who watches this. Can you say BUYING mood?

  7. @ Cindy,
    Snap!
What a great idea...we need to capitalize from that buying mood...

Thanks for visiting the blog and commenting (we'll get your money sooner or later:)

  8. Hey Donovan,
    Great to hear from you.

Time to strike up another coaching session and crush it!
    Rockin...

  9. Sam,
As usual, your message is the raw you = profound and without all the trimmings = authentic.
God only knows how many "things" in our informational-overload world are buzzing about ready to sting us into distraction.
It's 5am here in Japan and just in opening my trimmed email box of gurus and offers out of the yin-yang, I realize that that box needs a serious scalping, if I ever hope to move forward. Rome wasn't built nor destroyed in a day...it was the persistent focus or lack thereof that built it and ultimately brought it to its knees.
Just one comment. When you record, turn your mic down. The decibels - while not shocking to me, a long-time subscriber - will blow a spaceship out of orbit for the uninitiated.
Best wishes to the svelte you and your proud family.

  10. @ Richard,

    LOL!
I have no idea how to turn the mic levels down on my office cam, let alone turn the volume down on Me!
I guess we'll have to start issuing warnings....

  11. I LOVE MONDAY, I JUST ADORE MONDAY - congrats on your weight loss

  12. You crack me up, Sam! Way Awesome! Thanks!

  13. If you don't mind, I will start using your quote "....like a kitty in a lightning storm."

  14. LOL I love you Sam! :o )

  15. Sam right on as alway, great post, congrat of the weight loss as well.

  16. Darren Fitch says:

Sammy!!! Nice job!!! Don't be surprised if I call you soon!!!

  17. Hi Sam, You are the best!
Thank-you so much for everything you give! I am glad I can handle the truth!
    You are awesome!
You really look great! Keep up the good work, I wish I could lose at least 5 pounds.
I have to stop looking at food as a big pleasure moment. That is my biggest problem!

  18. Hey Sam, I absolutely love this video man! It made me realize something very powerful. I've been living my life one surprise at a time and I've never been prepared for much of anything. Even today, I'm surprised at this realization.

However, I'm 42 years young and I'm prepared to be fired up!

    Thanks to you.

    Stephane

  19. Dino Schachten says:

Sooooo cool! You are so awesome and inspirational! Buuuut: I did expect that! ;D

Thank you for finally telling me what I always knew inside: to pick ONE thing.

I hated organising working on a thousand things at a time and decide how much time to invest in what and consider what if one is more successful than the other and rather go with that...

I knew it. Thanks for agreeing: Doing anything but what you really mean to do in your life is a waste. It is the crime of not putting the energy into what you really want.

But I stopped it! How great. Things astonishingly look far less dangerous and the sense of getting closer towards my true goal is getting stronger!

Anyway! THANK YOU SAM - YOU ROCK!

  20. Sam,

Thanks for bringing the goods. Just introduced to you last week on a conference call and can't wait to meet you in person in Puerto Rico!

This is how I can some up Sam Crowley for me. Oprah talks about having that Ah-Ha moment. We've all had them. You know, when you get "it". Well Sam gave me an Ah-Ha moment about my Ah-Ha moments. Now I desire Fired Up Sam hits on a regular basis.

    Thanks for the healthy addiction,
    Jason
